It's not easy taking photos of kids..
Digital cameras must be THE greatest invention for parents of young kids (well, maybe a close 2nd after disposable diapers..). We tend to snap at least 2 shots of every pose because the chances of someone moving/looking away/grimacing is quite high. Matty's a lot better now that he's learned to stay still and smile (well, what he thinks is a smile anyway). Timmy's a lot more challenging though. Here are a couple of shots of him, just to illustrate my point...
No, mummy, my face and hands are moving!
That's a little better, now it's just my hands..
Yeah, that's the way to do it, mummy. Well done!
Of course there's always the option of taking photos with the flash, since that has a faster shutter speed and hence less "movement". The problem with that though is the face tends to be overexposed, and the kids have this "deer caught in the headlights" kind of look...
What's that blinding bright light??!
Heehee, but you do occasionally get some rather interesting pictures to keep for posterity..

i always wonder what our kids will think of us when they're finally old enough to understand what we're doing, i.e., posting all these weird and cute photos of them on the internet! ;) ah well... too bad for them!
Not to mention the videos too ;)
