Christmas this early?

We decided to start setting up for Christmas a little bit earlier this year, since we'll probably be quite busy nearer the time. First to go up was the tree (fiber optics ones are the best - it took just 20 mins to set up!). Now there are 4 pretty huge pressies under the tree, no prizes for guessing whose they are.

As I'm sitting here now, there's Christmas music playing in the background, which is quite pleasant. Sigh.. I do like the feel of this time of the year, and with all the forecasts of a long and cold winter we might even have a white Christmas (for once!).

In many ways, it doesn't really matter whether we celebrate it early or late -- what's important is what we're celebrating, the birth of Jesus! "O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining, it is the night of our dear Saviour's birth.."
